1990-1995 Faculty of Physical Education- 1997-2002 Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) specialized in painting.

 

Further Specializations

Sculpture.- Industrial design.- Digital art forms (digital installations with light).- Artistic engineering installations in mainly dark chambers with use of light.

He studies philosophy for more than twenty years.

 

Awards and Recognitions-

Art project selected for decorating Eleftherios Venizelos Athens Airport (2000).- First place graduate scholarship from the School of Fine Arts (2002).- Digital art installation entitled «Music» selected for the Athens metro station (2004).- Received an award for the design of a digital art installation with fiber optics for the Olympic Stadium Athens metro station (2004).- Digital art project "Miorita , Melusina and the Sphinx " was chosen among 70 other European projects. The proposal comprised of a telecommunication digital installation that connected the two European Capitals of Culture -Sibiu and Luxemburg- with Greece (2007).

 

Professional Experience

2002-2004 New Product Design Executive for the "Promotion of Hellenic Culture Agency". Designed cultural products, responsible for production planning and quality control of ancient copies (sculptures, ceramics, paintings, metal objects) and the design of a museum shop.- 2004-2014 Give seminars and teach courses in painting, sculpture and ceramics to children and adults.- 2008-2014 Professor of art and design in secondary education.

 

Other Actions

Since 2006 Writing articles, organizing and participating in lectures on the relationship of artistic work with the social reality, the possibilities and conditions for the free artistic expression in modern times.- 2006 established the Independent Artist Network- 2007 Establishment of the non-profit company Artooth.- 2010 Founder of the cultural group called The Alarm Clock.- 2015 Founder and  general curator of the international festival of Sphinx, at Thebes, the one of the most ancient cities in the world.

2002 Personal exhibition titled «Musical». 2003 Two exhibitions titled «World 1» and «World 2». 2005 Two installations for the artists workshops entitled «Platonic» and «Walls – Periscopes». 2006 Installation in the artist’s workshop entitled «Sense Universe».- Group Exhibition in Damascus with the Greek Mediterranean Cooperation Foundation and the Independent Artist Network.- Group Exhibition in Alexandria Italy at the 13th Biennale of poetry. - Group Exhibition of Independent Artist Network at Mabrida Studios.- Proposal chosen among 70 European proposals for creating a digital art installation titled «Miorita, Melusina and the Sphinx». 2009- Public installation and interactive work called «Alarm from the Media» in Thebes.-

Co-organizer of the conference for the year of astronomy in the cultural center of the Municipality of Athens. 2010- Coordinator, Artistic Director and participant artist in art network "PAI", Alexandroupolis , Samothraki , Thebes , Patmos , Athens cultural events in all cities. 2011- Participation with the sculpture called «crisis» in a contemporary art exhibition organized by the Greek Church. 2012- Pictorial public interaction, participation with audience on «Unnailing the symbols of power». 2013 Organizer of a giant holistic work of art as a two-month international artistic intervention in the real psycho-social "fabric" of the ancient city of Thebes. 2014. Personal exhibition on the anthropocentrical - new big personal painting work - with the title «TRAP, series of madness of the 21th century» 2015 He founds and realizes the Sphinx 2015 festival an ambitious artistic project to found a new town on the tracks of one of the most ancient cities of Europe. He is realizing an gigantic ephemeral sculpture of a Sphinx at the Square of Thebes, to the point, according to Greek mythology, where he washed his hands Oedipus, after the murder of his father.

 

The monumental statue of the Sphinx is a manufacture of cheap and perishable materials, a symbolic character to mortality. On the wings of that statue, were projected digital images - works by artists from around the world -  to answer the question that man address to his own nature.

The sphinx of monumental dimensions, like any monster, awaits us at the entrance of the city -such as at the entrance of each monument in antiquity - marks the tragic element of human choice (Freud in Oidipodio identifies this idea to adulthood). The Sphinx made of 300 cartons of industrial products and 200 kilos glue worked by 12 people, intended to destroy herself, like many human civilizations by the "signs of the times”. The dissolution of, when is done will hold the meaning of the project.
