Kastelia Hill

 

  Kastelia Hill is one of the seven hills of the city of Thebes, which is well known as the city of seven gates and seven hills.

  In the modern city, it is one of the green public spaces, where a Gymnasium and a Lyceum of Thebes are located. Till a few years ago, there was an outdoor theatre at the top of the hill, where a lot of ancient tragedies were performed using the physical slopes and the tombs of Polynices and Eteocles as scenery. Cited in the exit of Proitidai Gates, Kastelia Hill consists a basic pole of interest in the archaeological connection of the ancient fortification.
